Welcome to our new fortnightly series which aims to bring you Canberra’s latest commercial property development news and updates.

  • An updated version of the ACT Land Development Agency’s redevelopment strategy for the Yarralumla Brickworks precinct was announced last week. Plans include restoration of the historic brickworks with public park facilities, along with medium density housing to be developed in the surrounding areas and further commercial space to complement the existing West Deakin business park. Housing development is expected to comprise 1,600 new dwellings over 41.95ha.

The public is invited to attend an information forum being held onsite this Saturday 31 May from 10am – 1pm. Further information on this development can be found at the LDA website.

  • A further two Mixed-Use development sites have been released by the LDA at the Kingston Foreshore. Blocks 3 & 4 of Section 66 at “The Peninsula” overlook the Jerrabomberra Wetlands and offer 2,474sqm and 2,715sqm respectively of prime CZ5 zoned land. This is the second land release at the Peninsula, following the successful sale of three other sites. The sites will go to auction on Wednesday 25 June.

This land release comes shortly after the Masterplan for Section 49 Kingston’s “arts hub” was announced last week. View more information on the Kingston Foreshore Masterplan
