Wollongong Central Opening

Wollongong Central Opening

The GPT Group’s $200 million venture is at the forefront of a wave of property investment into the Wollongong City Centre. Coupled with large scale public expenditure, the CBD is experiencing a spike in local investment and entrepreneurialism, spanning everything from small bars to large-scale innovation in construction.

Its only been two weeks since the new Wollongong Central opened its doors and the electric atmosphere in the retail hub is being replicated in the local property investment market. The Wollongong CBD has always been an attractive location to property investors, however, with the hive of activity happening in the CBD at present the interest is rising.

“A new commercial development in Wollongong’s CBD, such as the completion of GPT’s Wollongong Central development, only adds to the confidence of home buyers in our region.  It shows that large corporates are comfortable investing in our region, it provides more job opportunities (both during construction & beyond) & it shows Wollongong is maturing to be a more cosmopolitan city.  All this is important, especially when we’re wanting both local & non-local buyers to invest here.” says MMJ Real Estate Director Daniel Hastings.

Investment opportunities are starting to creep onto the market like those at 17 Smith Street, Wollongong and the multi property portfolio at Bank & Kembla Streets, Wollongong.

“This is the first time 17 Smith Street has been offered to the market and is a once in a lifetime investment.” says selling agent David Geary.

The 6 x 2 bedroom apartment complex is Torrens titled and set in a sought after beach side location.  The multi property portfolio located on Bank and Kembla Streets represents amazing development potential in the heart of Wollongong CBD.

“These fantastic investment opportunities are set to go under the hammer on the 5th November with strong interest already received from both local and non-local parties.”
