Territory Plan changes to boost Tuggeranong Town Centre

Tuggeranong

Draft variation 318 was approved by Minister Corbell on Tuesday with the intention of giving an immediate boost to development activity in the Tuggeranong Town Centre. Key points include:

  • Increases in building heights in the central town centre area to 6 – 7 storeys, with 8 – 9 storey office developments encouraged on Athllon Drive and Soward Way.
  • The identification of a site on the corner of Athllon Drive and Rowland Reed Drive for a future 12 storey landmark development.
  • Parts of Greenway to be rezoned to CZ2 to encourage mixed use development.
  • Car parking requirements for new office buildings to be reduced from 2.5 to 2 car spaces per 100sqm of GFA.

New Development Applications lodged

More childcare places are coming online in Tuggeranong, with two DA’s lodged last week for new childcare centres in Kambah and Oxley. In addition, the new centre at Macarthur looks to be nearly complete.

A large unit development application was lodged for Block 2 Section 66 Kingston, a neighbouring site of the two blocks mentioned above which were sold at auction. The development comprises 75 residential units over six levels.
