2013 Kidzwish Charity Ball

2013 Kidzwish Charity BallOver 800 business people gathered together to help raise much needed funds for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children of the Illawarra. The WIN Entertainment Centre was transformed into a glamorous extravaganza on November 22,for the 10th Annual KidzWish Charity Ball.

MMJ Wollongong again continued its support for this wonderful event by not only purchasing a table for the night but also conducting the live auction and donating to prizes and raffles on the night to the value of $8,600.

Once again Daniel Hastings used his exceptional auctioneering skills to assist in achieving the highest amount of money raised in the 10 year history of the event. Auction items included sailing trips on Sydney Harbour, helicopter winery tours photo packages and a trip to Bali.

Coupled with the Charity Ball is the annual Stockland KidzWish Christmas Party held the day prior. About 4300 sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and carers from the region attended the party, with Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy, Mary Poppins, Spiderman and Ronald McDonald just some of the characters to perform as the most popular segments from shows over the last decade played out on stage.

After the show, it was time for presents, including water pistols, skateboards, jewellery boxes, basketballs, toy trucks and gift vouchers. Santa pitched in to lend a helping hand, but it was the KidzWish volunteers, an efficient orange army, that kept the long line moving, making sure each child got a gift.

“This truly is an amazing charity that supports such a wonderful cause. To see the smiles on these children’s faces, even if only for a day, makes your heart melt. Anything that can help make a day in these children’s lives better, is not only great for them, but also a wonderful experience for their family and carers. Congratulations to the Kidzwish team on 10 years, we look forward to working together for many more.”   says MMJ Marketing Manager, Katie Rollinson.
