Sale of Prime Tuggeranong Asset

The Canberra Times today reports that the Homeworld Centre in Tuggeranong has sold to QLD based property group Sentinel for $31,000,000. As reported in the last edition of Development Developments, The ACT Government annouced a draft variation to the Territory Plan last month which will enable increased height limits for developments in the central part of Tuggeranong. Sentinel intends to redevelop the property to include multi level residential usage and says the planning variation was a significant factor in the decision to purchase. Homeworld Tuggeranong The Homeworld Centre occupies a prominent block within the Town Centre, with frontages to Soward Way, Anketell Street and Reed Street. Major tenants include Aldi, Dan Murphy’s, ACT Government, Dick Smith Electronics and the Department of Human Services, with eight years remaining on their lease.

  • Block 1 Section 126 Franklin – 40 units, fronting Flemington Road, 7,381sqm block
  • Block 1 Section 68 Gungahlin – mixed use development including basement car parking, ground floor commercial space and three levels of residential dwellings. 2,364sqm block on the corner of Anthony Rolfe Avenue and Gungahlin Place
